Life Fitness

Fitness has become a way of life, and in many respects necessary for survival. It’s said that life expectancy in the industrialized world is much longer than human ancestors enjoyed long ago, but it’s all for not if these later years are bogged down with avoidable diseases, afflictions, and injuries.
Back in the early 70’s when the mainstream westernized fitness industry was just beginning, two innovative and visionary men named Ray Wilson and Augie Nieto stumbled upon something that back then was revolutionary. The world’s very first electric stationary exercise bike, created by a man ahead of his time, Dr. Dimmick.
The Birth of LifeCycle
This original model was the beginning of an entire industry. What Ray and Augie created, and through years of dedicated, hard work, and a serious philosophy they created what is now the biggest and most prominent commercial fitness supplier on planet Earth.
This is actually typical of the fitness market. Most of the biggest names were at one time small start ups with typically two ambitious American minds at the helm. These days Life Fitness works with a long list of dealers and distributors that span more than 120 countries, and the company was actually taken over by the Brunswick Corporation 20 years after its birth in 1997.
In order to solidify their stance on the world stage early, Life Fitness bought out Hammer Strength and ParaBody as well They paired plate-loaded equipment with home gym machinery brands and come out with fascinating products year after year.
Foundational Fitness Philosophers
Like Dr. Dimmick, Ray and Augie were ahead of their time. In some respects they took the notions of the day, and injected them into an enlightened approach to fitness that makes it a central figure in human life.
It is, and through Life Fitness products, people in the 21st century are getting back into shape, and combating some of the detrimental effects of a technologically dependent and sedentary culture. Their products run the gambit from any number of high quality strength building and resistance training systems, to cardio equipment like top notch exercise bikes, sturdy and dependable treadmills, cross-trainers, and stair-climbers of all different kinds.
The idea is to get people back in touch with their bodies, and to approach human wellness and exercise science with a holistic approach rather than a marketing driven entertainment industry fad or trend. Life Fitness sets trends. It doesn’t typically follow the latest fitness fashion of the day.
Moving Forward with Life Fitness
It only takes five minutes and a basic search engine to see that the company is thriving, spreading, innovating, and stirring the pot of the modern fitness world. The obesity and diabetes epidemics are battles that must be won.
Life Fitness is at the forefront of the war against obesity, and is going above and beyond to not only raise the exercise level, enjoyment, and efficiency, but awareness as well. Life Fitness is only getting stronger through community support.
