What is the spacing between the bars on the front? And on the back
I just asked the authorized dealer and their measurements are about the same as Judy’s. They said 19 inches (inside handles) on the part closest to the frame and 22 inches (inside to inside) on the widest part of the dip handles. Probably Judy was more precise than they were. Since the bars themselves are around 1″ in diameter each, then the inner measurement for your hands should be 20 inches at the narrowest and 23 inches at the widest.

Will this product work if I'm 6'1" and the basement ceiling is 7'? The joists are open, so there is a bit of extra space.
The measurements are 53″ H x 38″L x 27″W. We’re sure it can work but always wise to measure just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps.

I am 5' 6" so how do you make the bars narrower as stated in q & a below?
The bars are flared out. Narrow in the front., wider in the back.

Seems to be conflicting info on measurements. Can someone who owns this measure the distance between the bars, at both widest and narrowest spots?
16.25″ & 18.75″ inside measurement between the grips. Buy it. It works well. I’m 6’4″

"This dip stand is by far the best I have ever used. It has amazing craftsmanship and is heavy duty. I weigh 210 pounds, am 6'0" tall and do weighted dips on this rig often, sometimes with up to 60 pounds of additional weight strapped to a dip belt. It does not rock nor bend on a flat surface. This rig was clearly built for wear and tear, abuse, and very heavy weight. This stand is gym quality or even better than gym quality. One of the best purchases I have made. The parallel bars slant inward towards the front and expand as you go towards the back of the handles. This is great because you can perform various kinds of dips. With a wider grip you can put more emphasis on the chest and at its narrowest point in the beginning, you can blow up your triceps. Assembly is also very straightforward and easy. I highly recommend this machine. It is made for hardcore enthusiasts with amazing quality."

"I have wanted a dip station for a while to complete my home gym. I scanned Craigslist for a while but nothing worth a crap was ever listed (if it was I missed it). I searched the internet for "how to build your own dip station" and pondered that idea for a while. I finally came to the conclusion that if I want a quality piece of equipment I'm going to have to bite the bullet and spend a little money. I don't regret this purchase at all. I arrived quickly and didn't take very long to assemble (5 main pieces, 4 plastic "feet", 8 bolts, and some end caps for the handles). I am 6'2" tall and weigh approximately 235 pounds and this equipment didn't bend, sway or rock - solid! The taller/heavier man will have no problems on this dip station."

"The dip station does exactly as advertised. It is a good height and provide varying width. I am 6'4 250 and find the apparatus perfect for body weight and weighted dips using a dip belt. Clearance is good, sturdiness is good. Overall what you would find in a gym for doing dips. I guess the only downside is that you have to have a completely separate piece of equipment for doing dips but I think it is worth it and it's not that much space. Also, if you do not have somewhere to do pull-ups you can put your feet on either the floor or a physio ball and do neutral grip pull-ups on this. While it does not mimic true pull-ups it does provide a good lat work out. Overall, after having the piece of equipment I would buy it again and will recommend it to others."
